a colder plug doesn't change the temperature at which the fuel/air burns, it changes the plug tip temperature. Perhaps Greg meant a colder plug reduces the plug tip temp by 200 degrees for every number? I dunno you want the plug tip to be hot enough to burn off any carbon deposits to prevent fouling, but not so hot that it ignites the fuel prematurely. High boost raises the temperature of the combustion process. In order to prevent the plug from over heating, a colder plug is needed to keep the plug tip from over heating by conducting more heat away from the plug tip into the cylinder head.
